The Golden Triangle is a business district in downtown Washington, D.C., roughly between Dupont Circle and the White House. Its name comes from its shape: the area is framed by the diagonal avenues of Pierre L'Enfant's plan, including Pennsylvania, Connecticut and New Hampshire, laid over the lettered and numbered street grid. The result is a pattern of triangular blocks, small parks and traffic circles.
The district is dense with offices, law firms, associations and lobbying groups, and K Street, whose name has become shorthand for lobbying in Washington, runs through it. Farragut Square is at its heart, with Farragut North and Farragut West Metro stations nearby. The height limit of the District keeps the buildings at an even height, so the district's structure comes from its streets rather than its skyline.
A Golden Triangle map poster shows one of the clearest examples of L'Enfant's plan in action. Diagonals cross the grid at sharp angles, squares and circles mark the intersections, and the White House grounds open up at one edge. It is a precise, architectural composition, and it suits the Blueprint or Noir style.

This rectangular park with its statue of Admiral Farragut is the green centre of the district, framed by office buildings and two Metro stations.
The wide east–west street runs through the district. It is lined with offices, and its name is widely used as shorthand for lobbying in Washington.
