Te mape
Islamabad was built in the 1960s as the new capital of Pakistan, to a master plan by the Greek architect Constantinos Doxiadis. The city is divided into large, square sectors, each identified by a letter and a number, such as F-6 or G-9. Each sector was planned with its own markets, schools and green spaces, creating a clear, repeating structure across the map.
The grid is set at the foot of the Margalla Hills, which form a steep green wall along the northern edge. The Faisal Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, stands where the city meets the hills. To the east lies Rawal Lake, and to the south the older, denser city of Rawalpindi forms a twin urban area.
An Islamabad map poster shows one of the most orderly street plans of any capital. Wide avenues divide the sectors, green belts run between them and the hills rise abruptly beyond the last row of blocks. The contrast with Rawalpindi's tighter, older streets is visible at the southern edge, making the map a study in planned and organic growth.
The city is laid out in large lettered and numbered sectors divided by broad avenues, a structure that reads clearly even at small print sizes.
The hills form a sharp northern boundary. Streets end at their foot, and the Faisal Mosque sits where the planned city meets the slopes.
This reservoir on the eastern side appears as a broad, irregular shape of water, softening the edge of the otherwise geometric plan.

Aiheā Islamabad
Islamabad's residents often identify with their sector as much as the city itself, so a map of the capital is a natural way to mark a home, a posting or a period of study. The grid makes an exceptionally clean, graphic poster.
Add a title, subtitle or date, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files are $9, with six print sizes as 300 DPI PNGs and print-ready PDFs.
