Te mape
Kabanga lies in Ngara District in the far west of Kagera Region, close to Tanzania's border with Burundi. The town grew along the road that crosses into Burundi here, and its shape from above reflects that: buildings and plots strung along a main route, with smaller paths branching into the surrounding hillsides.
The landscape of this corner of Kagera is rolling and upland, with ridges and valleys that make the road network curve rather than run straight. On a map, settlement thins gradually into farmland, and footpaths and tracks form a loose mesh between homesteads. The pattern is organic rather than planned, shaped by slopes and by the flow of people and goods across the frontier.
A Kabanga map poster captures a place defined by movement, a crossing point as much as a town. In black and white the main road becomes the spine of the image, and the finer lines around it show how daily life spreads out from the border route into the hills. It is a map with a clear story in its geometry.
The main road through Kabanga leads to the crossing with Burundi, and on the poster it forms the strongest line, with most of the town's buildings arranged along its length.
Minor tracks and footpaths wind across the slopes around the town, following the terrain and linking homesteads, fields and neighbouring villages in an irregular, almost hand-drawn web.
Kabanga sits in the hill country of western Kagera, and the curving roads on the map reflect the ridges and valleys that shape where people live and farm.

Aiheā Kabanga
Border towns hold particular meaning for people who have lived, worked or passed through them, whether as residents, traders, aid workers or travellers. A map of Kabanga keeps that crossing point in view long after the journey is over.
You can personalise the title, add a subtitle with a date or a short line, and keep or edit the coordinates. Five styles are available, from Classic black and white to Blueprint and Sand, as digital files or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
