Kırşehir lies in the heart of Central Anatolia, on a high, open plateau of rolling steppe and farmland. From above, the city appears as a compact mass of streets with few natural barriers, spreading outward in newer blocks along the main roads. The Kılıçözü stream passes through the urban area, and low hills rise at the edges, giving the otherwise level map a gentle frame.
The historic centre is small and closely built, with older streets arranged around mosques, markets and medieval monuments. Beyond it, the city's growth follows a more regular pattern of apartment blocks, wide avenues and university grounds. At the edges, the landscape opens quickly into fields and grassland, so the urban outline stands out sharply against the broad, quiet terrain of the plateau.
Kırşehir is associated with Ahi Evran, the thirteenth-century figure linked to the Ahi guild tradition, and with the Cacabey Madrasa, which once served as an astronomical observatory. It is also known as the home region of the folk musician Neşet Ertaş. A Kırşehir map poster shows the city as it is: compact, open and set squarely within the steppe.
The old core around the medieval monuments forms a dense cluster of short, irregular streets, the most detailed area on the map and the point from which the city grew.
The stream crosses the city in a thin winding line, one of the few water features on this inland map and a natural guide through the urban fabric.
At the city limits, streets give way abruptly to open fields and grassland, so the built-up area appears as a clear, self-contained shape on the plateau.

Aiheā Kırşehir
For those who grew up with the bozlak songs of the region or have family roots here, Kırşehir is more than a dot on the plateau. A clean map of its streets gives that attachment a quiet, lasting form.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to your own text, including a date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Paper and Sand reflect the warm tones of the Anatolian steppe.
