Te mape
Kot Kapūra sits on the flat alluvial plain of southern Punjab, in Faridkot district. There is no river or hill to shape it, so the map is a record of roads, rails and irrigation. A dense, irregular core of lanes gives way to straighter blocks at the edges, and beyond them the farmland is divided into regular plots by canals and field tracks.
The town takes its name from its founder, Kapura, a local chief of the seventeenth century. Its later growth came with the railway. Kot Kapūra is a junction where lines to Bathinda, Firozpur and beyond meet, and on paper the tracks cross the plain in long, confident strokes that the older street pattern had to fit around.
A Kot Kapūra map poster shows that contrast clearly. At the centre, fine lanes knot around the old market. Around it, the geometry becomes looser and more open. In black and white, the rail lines and canals read like ruled lines on a page, a quiet diagram of how a Punjab town grew outward from its bazaar.
Several lines converge on the town, and their long straight curves are the strongest marks on the map, cutting across the plain and setting the direction of the newer streets.
The oldest part of town is a tight weave of narrow lanes, much finer in grain than the surrounding districts and immediately recognisable at poster scale.
Irrigation channels and field boundaries divide the countryside into regular parcels, giving the edges of the map a calm, almost graph-paper texture.

Aiheā Kot Kapūra
For people from Kot Kapūra, or with family roots in Faridkot district, the map is a portrait of home drawn in its most familiar lines: the bazaar, the station, the road out towards the fields. It carries more personal meaning than a photograph of any single building.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, so the poster can carry a family name, a year or a village of origin. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, to suit the room it will hang in.
