Kupang sits at the far western end of Timor, facing a sheltered bay that opens toward the Savu Sea. The map begins at the shoreline, where the older town and port crowd along the water, and then climbs gradually inland across dry, rising ground that the city has filled with a loose network of roads and neighbourhoods.
The coastline is the defining line. It curves around the bay, broken by small river mouths and headlands, while offshore the island of Semau lies across a narrow strait. Inland the street pattern becomes more irregular, following ridges and ravines rather than a planned grid, which gives the upper city an organic, branching look.
Kupang is the capital of East Nusa Tenggara province and a gateway to islands such as Rote and Sumba, as well as to Timor-Leste by road. It entered European history in 1789, when William Bligh reached the port after the mutiny on the Bounty. A Kupang map poster captures the bay, the waterfront and the terraces rising behind them.
The broad, sheltered bay curves along the northern side of the city, its shoreline tracing the edge of the old town and the harbour district.
West of the city a narrow channel separates the mainland from Semau Island, adding a second coastline to the map and framing the approach to the harbour.
Away from the sea, roads spread across rising, rocky terrain, bending around ridges and gullies instead of forming straight blocks, so the southern districts read as a loose web of lines.

Aiheā Kupang
A map of Kupang tends to mean something personal: a hometown, a posting in the provincial capital or the starting point of a journey through the eastern islands. The pairing of sea and open land makes a calm, balanced image that works well on a large wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a name or a year, and choose one of five styles, including Sand and Blueprint. Before you buy, a free watermarked preview shows the layout; the full $9 download includes 300 DPI PNG and PDF files in six sizes.
