Kuttippuram lies in Malappuram district, on the banks of the Bharathapuzha, the long river that people in Kerala also call the Nila. On a map the river dominates. It is a wide, braided band, often split by sandbanks, and the town sits along it where the main north–south routes of the region cross.
The streets follow the Kerala pattern more than a grid. A main road carries most of the traffic, and smaller lanes branch off into dense, green residential areas where houses sit on their own plots among trees. The railway runs through the town and crosses the river on its own bridge, so two parallel crossings mark the water.
A Kuttippuram map poster reduces this landscape to a few clear elements: the broad river, the bridges and a looser web of roads that fade into the countryside. It makes a spare and legible composition.
One of Kerala's longest rivers passes the town as a wide channel with shifting sandbanks. It is the largest and most recognisable shape on the map.
Crossings for the highway and the railway span the river near the town. These thin lines connect Kuttippuram to the settlements on the opposite bank.
Away from the main road, narrow lanes wind between homesteads. They form an irregular, organic pattern that is typical of towns in central Kerala.

Aiheā Kuttippuram
Many people from Kerala live and work far from home, and a map of the town by the Nila is a quiet way to keep it close. The river alone makes the poster recognisable to anyone who has crossed it.
