Keukenhof estate
The garden grounds west of the town show winding paths, ponds and wooded areas, a soft organic shape set against the straight lines of the surrounding bulb fields.

Lisse Map Poster & Print
Lisse lies in the Duin- en Bollenstreek, the strip of sandy land between Leiden and Haarlem best known for growing flower bulbs. Seen from above, the town is a compact core surrounded by a patchwork of long, narrow fields, each separated by straight ditches that give the landscape a ruled, almost graphic quality.
The town is internationally known as the home of Keukenhof, the spring flower garden that opens each year on the grounds of a former castle estate. On the map its curving paths and ponds stand out against the geometric fields around it, one of the few places where lines bend freely.
A Lisse map poster reads like a study in Dutch order: straight watercourses, a grid of fields, a modest historic centre and the ring of newer housing around it. To the east, the broad waterway bordering the Haarlemmermeer polder adds a strong line near the edge of the composition.

Bulb field pattern
Around the built-up area, narrow rectangular plots divided by ditches form a regular striped texture that is typical of this part of South Holland.
Water on every side
Canals, ditches and the larger waterway to the east run through and around Lisse, reminders that this landscape is shaped and drained by careful water management.
