Live Oak is an unincorporated community in Santa Cruz County, California, lying between the city of Santa Cruz and Capitola on the northern shore of Monterey Bay. From above, it is a patchwork of residential streets, mostly low-rise houses on small lots, laid out in a series of loosely connected grids that grew up over the twentieth century.
The coastline gives the map its character. East Cliff Drive follows the edge of the bluffs, overlooking a series of beaches and surf breaks, including the well-known Pleasure Point. Small lagoons and the Santa Cruz harbour inlet break into the shore on the western side, and Highway 1 runs along the inland edge.
Surfing culture runs deep here, and the neighbourhood has a relaxed, residential feel that differs from the busier downtown areas on either side. A Live Oak map poster shows the slow curve of the bay, the cliff-top road and the quiet streets behind it, with the ocean filling a generous part of the frame.
The road follows the top of the coastal bluffs, tracing the shape of the shore and linking the neighbourhood's beaches and surf spots.
A rocky point on the bay known for its surf breaks, it gives the coastline a distinctive angle on the south-eastern side of the map.
Narrow inlets, including the harbour channel and small coastal lagoons, cut into the shoreline on the western side and break up the grid of streets.

Aiheā Live Oak
Live Oak tends to stay with people: surfers who spent years at the Point, families who raised children a few blocks from the beach, students who stayed on after university. A map holds the whole coastline and the streets behind it.
Add your street, your surf spot or a meaningful year to the subtitle and choose from five styles. Noir turns the bay into a deep dark field, while Blueprint suits the coastline. The $9 download covers six sizes, including 18×24″ and 24×36″.
