Loma de Gato is a barangay of Marilao in Bulacan, just north of Metro Manila, and one of the larger communities in the municipality by area. Its name, Spanish for hill of the cat, hints at the higher ground on the eastern side of Marilao, where the land begins to rise toward San Jose del Monte.
From above, the area reads as a collection of distinct neighbourhoods rather than a single grid. Subdivisions each bring their own internal pattern of looping streets and short dead ends, connected to the outside by a few main roads. Between them remain patches of open land and older settlement, so the map alternates between tightly drawn housing and quieter, emptier spaces.
Like much of southern Bulacan, Loma de Gato has grown quickly as families moved out from the capital in search of more room while keeping a manageable commute. A Loma de Gato map poster records that particular moment of growth, with every subdivision and connecting road drawn in the same calm line, a portrait of a place still taking shape.
Each residential development has its own street design, from loops to cul-de-sacs, and on the map they sit side by side like separate small towns sharing a boundary.
The land rises toward the hills of San Jose del Monte, giving the barangay a slightly different setting from the low, flat fields typical of much of Bulacan.
A handful of through roads stitch the neighbourhoods together and link them to the rest of Marilao and the routes heading south toward Metro Manila.
