Te mape
Lomme is a former independent commune on the western side of Lille, joined to the city as an associated commune in 2000 while keeping its own local identity. On a map it reads as part of the continuous urban fabric of the Lille metropolis, but with a clear character: long streets of terraced brick houses, industrial sites and large hospital and commercial complexes at its edges.
The A25 motorway toward Dunkirk runs along the town, a heavy line crossing the map, and rail lines add further straight strokes. Metro line 2 ends at Saint-Philibert in Lomme, connecting the district directly with central Lille. Between these corridors lie grids of residential streets, small parks and the regular blocks typical of northern French industrial towns.
The area's past is tied to the textile and manufacturing economy of French Flanders, and many streets still reflect the pattern of housing built around former works. A Lomme map poster captures this dense, practical fabric, with the motorway and metro giving structure to a place that often goes unnoticed beside Lille.
The motorway to Dunkirk sweeps past Lomme, a bold line that separates neighbourhoods and ties the district into the regional road network of the Lille metropolis.
Line 2 of the Lille metro reaches Saint-Philibert in Lomme, marking the western end of a route that links the district with the city centre and beyond.
Long rows of narrow brick houses form tight, regular blocks, a fine-grained pattern that reads clearly in black and white and reflects the area's industrial past.

Aiheā Lomme
Lomme is home to many who work in Lille or grew up in its western suburbs, and the district's plan is familiar from daily commutes and school runs. A map of it gives that everyday landscape its own place on the wall.
