Seen from above, Louviers is shaped by the Eure. The river does not pass the town in a single line but divides into several channels, so the centre sits among narrow strips of water and small bridges. Around this core, a ring of boulevards follows the line of the old walls, and newer housing spreads outward toward the fields and wooded slopes of the Eure valley.
For centuries the town lived from cloth. The same channels that give the map its intricate lines once drove the mills and workshops of a well-known Norman textile industry, and the older street pattern still reflects that working past: short lanes, tight blocks and buildings set close to the water. The church of Notre-Dame, with its elaborate Flamboyant Gothic south porch, stands at the heart of this fabric.
A Louviers map poster brings out that contrast between the fine web of the historic centre and the looser suburbs beyond. The river arms read as delicate parallel strokes, the boulevards as a firm closed loop, and the valley roads as long lines heading toward Rouen and the Seine. It is a small town, but on paper it has an unusually detailed, layered centre.
The river breaks into several arms as it crosses town, creating slim islands of streets and a pattern of short bridges that gives the centre its distinctive, finely cut look on the map.
Wide boulevards trace the outline of the former fortifications, forming a clear loop that separates the dense historic core from the more open neighbourhoods around it.
Louviers lies in the Eure valley, with roads running along the river and wooded higher ground on either side, so the town appears as a compact cluster within a green corridor.

Aiheā Louviers
Louviers suits people who know Normandy at a walking pace: a childhood home, a family house near the river, a weekend base between Paris and the coast. The web of water channels makes a quietly intricate wall piece that rewards a closer look.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a name or a meaningful date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; the Paper and Sand styles sit especially well with the soft tones of the Eure valley.
