Mangrūl Pīr is a town in Washim district, in the Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra. On the map it forms a compact cluster of lanes and small blocks around its older quarters, with newer housing and institutions stretching along the roads to neighbouring towns. Beyond the edges the land opens into wide agricultural plains, crossed by village roads and seasonal streams.
The second part of the town's name refers to a pir, a Sufi saint, and the shrine associated with him is an important site for local devotees. Mangrūl Pīr is also the headquarters of its taluka, and its markets handle the cotton, soybeans and pulses grown across the surrounding countryside.
