Mesquite sits in the far north-east corner of Clark County, Nevada, right on the Arizona border. On the map, Interstate 15 cuts diagonally across the town, and the Virgin River runs parallel to it through a green floodplain. Everything else is desert: pale open ground broken by washes and the edges of the surrounding ranges.
The town has a distinctive layout. Its residential areas are made up of curving cul-de-sacs and gated loops. Several golf courses thread between them as long, meandering shapes.
