Midland sits in central Michigan, where the Chippewa River flows into the Tittabawassee. From above, the joining rivers are the first thing you see. Their shared channel divides the town, and the older downtown grid lines the north bank. Farther out, the grid gives way to residential streets that curve through wooded lots.
