Montrouge lies immediately south of Paris, separated from the capital by the boulevard périphérique, and on a map the boundary is unmistakable: the ring road draws a hard edge, and Montrouge's streets begin right on the other side. The commune is small in area, and almost all of it is built up, giving the map an unusually uniform density.
The main avenues run roughly north to south, continuing the radial lines of Paris toward the southern suburbs, while smaller streets knit the blocks together in an irregular pattern. The town hall, with its tall belfry, anchors the centre, and the Paris Métro reaches the commune at the Mairie de Montrouge station.
Montrouge is often cited as one of the most densely populated communes in France, a fact that becomes visible when the streets are drawn without labels. A Montrouge map poster shows a finely grained urban fabric that feels continuous with Paris, yet has a distinct outline of its own.
Paris's ring road forms Montrouge's northern boundary, a strong curving line that separates the capital from the suburb and gives the composition an immediate reference point.
Wide avenues continue southward from Paris through the commune, cutting across the smaller street pattern and linking Montrouge to the neighbouring towns of the inner suburbs.
Almost every part of the commune is built up, so the map shows an even, closely packed mesh of streets with very little open ground, a striking texture in black and white.

Aiheā Montrouge
Montrouge suits people who have lived just outside the périphérique and know the rhythm of those avenues, the Métro stop and the town hall square. The map feels both Parisian and specifically local.
