The centre of Nola is a tight cluster of short streets and small squares. It is the darkest, busiest part of the map, surrounded by more regular modern blocks.

Nola stands on the fertile plain of Campania, north-east of Vesuvius and inland from Naples. It is one of the region's oldest towns. In antiquity it was an important centre, and the Roman emperor Augustus died there in AD 14. The flat ground shows on the map, where streets spread out evenly in every direction from a dense historic core.
The town has a strong religious and intellectual tradition. Paulinus of Nola, bishop in the early fifth century, is linked to the early Christian basilicas at nearby Cimitile. The philosopher Giordano Bruno was born in Nola in 1548. Every summer the Festa dei Gigli fills the centre as tall wooden towers are carried through the streets. The feast is recognised by UNESCO as intangible heritage.
A Nola map poster shows how these layers sit on the plain: the close, irregular lanes of the old centre, the wider roads that grew around them, and the rural edges where the town meets the fields and neighbouring towns of the Campanian countryside.
The centre of Nola is a tight cluster of short streets and small squares. It is the darkest, busiest part of the map, surrounded by more regular modern blocks.
During the Festa dei Gigli, tall processional towers are carried on the shoulders of teams through the centre's streets. The map shows the urban setting the procession moves through.
Nola sits on open, level land north-east of the volcano. That is why its outskirts spread so evenly, with roads running straight across the countryside toward nearby towns.

Aiheā Nola
Nola means a lot to people from the Naples hinterland, to families who carry the gigli every June, and to readers of Giordano Bruno. A clean map of the town is a reminder of home or a nod to that intellectual heritage, and it fits a modern interior without looking out of place.
Add your own title, a subtitle such as a family name or festival year, and a custom coordinates line. Then pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the geometric outskirts, and Paper softens the old centre.
