Norco sits in western Riverside County, California, and calls itself Horsetown USA. Its zoning keeps large lots on which horses are kept, and many streets have riding trails running beside them. From above, this shows as a looser grid than the neighbouring suburbs, with generous parcels, paddocks and fewer dense cul-de-sacs. The name comes from the North Corona Land Company, which developed the area in the early twentieth century.
The Santa Ana River curves along the western and southern side of the city, a broad, mostly dry channel lined with open land. To the east the Norco Hills rise over the street pattern. Lake Norconian lies in the northern part of the city, beside the grounds of the former Lake Norconian Club resort, which later became a naval site and is now home to a Naval Surface Warfare Center division.
A Norco map poster traces the balance between suburb and countryside: the long straight avenues, the trail corridors, the riverbed and the contours of the hills. In black and white the map shows how much open space the city has kept, something that is easy to miss from the freeway but obvious from above.
The river's wide, braided channel forms a soft boundary along the city's edge, separating Norco's grid from Corona and Eastvale across the water.
A compact lake in the north of the city sits next to the historic Norconian resort buildings, a clear shape among the streets and naval grounds around it.
Large lots and trail-lined roads give Norco a more open pattern than typical Southern California suburbs, with space for stables, arenas and paddocks.

Aiheā Norco
Norco suits anyone who has ridden its trails, kept a horse there or simply liked a town that chose open space over density. The map works well in a tack room, a ranch-style living room or as a gift for someone moving on from the Inland Empire.
Add a title, a subtitle such as the year you moved in, and your own coordinates line. The five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, let the poster sit easily with anything from rustic wood to a clean white wall.
