Porlamar is the largest city on Isla de Margarita, the main island of Venezuela's Nueva Esparta state. From above it reads as a compact, irregular grid laid along the island's southeastern coast, where the streets run straight down to the Caribbean. To the east the built-up area merges with Pampatar, and to the north it thins out toward the dry hills that shape the island's interior.
For decades the island has held free-port status, and Porlamar became its commercial centre, with shops and hotels gathered near the waterfront. On a map that history shows up as density: a tight core of short blocks close to the shore, surrounded by wider avenues and newer districts that stretch inland and along the coast toward the neighbouring towns.
A Porlamar map poster keeps the drawing true to what the island offers: a coastline, a grid and the edge where the town meets open sea. In black and white the Caribbean becomes a single calm plane, and the streets gather against it like a fringe. It is a quiet way to remember a place most people know for its light and heat.
The city ends abruptly at the Caribbean, and the coastline forms the strongest line on the map, with small bays and beaches drawn as clean curves against the empty sea.
To the east, Porlamar's streets run straight into Pampatar, the older port town, so the poster shows one continuous urban band along the coast rather than two separate settlements.
Inland the street network loosens into roads heading toward the hills of Margarita, giving the top of the frame a sparser, more open texture than the dense waterfront.

Aiheā Porlamar
People hang Porlamar for island summers, family roots in Nueva Esparta or a stretch of coast they keep coming back to. The map works without any photograph: anyone who has walked the shore will recognise its line at a glance.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a family name or the year you first arrived, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits this coastline especially well.
