Rivière-du-Loup lies on the south shore of the St. Lawrence in Quebec's Bas-Saint-Laurent region, where the estuary is already many kilometres wide. On the map, the town rises from the waterfront in a series of streets and terraces. The river it is named after cuts through town, dropping over a waterfall before it reaches the estuary.
The town has long been a crossroads. Highways split here, one continuing east along the St. Lawrence and the other heading south-east toward New Brunswick. A seasonal ferry crosses the estuary to Saint-Siméon on the north shore. Visitors know the waterfront for its wide western view and for sunsets over the water and the hills beyond.
A Rivière-du-Loup map poster gives the estuary a lot of space. Much of the sheet is open water, with the town's streets packed along one shore and the curving valley of the Rivière du Loup running inland. It is a composition of contrasts: a dense town, a large empty expanse of water and a few thin lines leading away along the coast.
The estuary fills a large part of the frame as calm, open water. Against it, the waterfront and the town's grid stand out as a clear, dense edge.
The river that gives the town its name winds through it in a deep valley and drops over a waterfall close to the centre, a strong natural line across the streets.
The main highways meet near the town, one following the shore and one turning inland toward New Brunswick. On the poster they form long, clean curves.

Many people pass through Rivière-du-Loup on the way to the Gaspé or the Maritimes. Many others were born here or spent summers by the water. The poster fits both: it is a real place on the St. Lawrence, recognisable from its shoreline.
You can put your own words in the title and subtitle, such as a family name or a summer you remember, and edit the coordinates. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The poster comes as a matte print or as HD files.
