Sagalo lies in the Kayes region of southwestern Mali, in the hilly savanna country toward the borders with Guinea and Senegal. From above, it is a loose cluster of family compounds with open ground between them. Unpaved tracks connect the compounds and radiate outward. The settlement has no formal grid, and its shape comes from how people have built and moved over time.
The wider Kayes region is known for its gold deposits and for rivers that feed the Senegal basin. Around Sagalo, the map is mostly open land with footpaths and cart tracks leading to fields and nearby villages. The contrast between the dense cluster of dwellings and the wide space around it is the main feature of the plan.
A Sagalo map poster keeps that sparse character. Fine lines of tracks and paths radiate from the settlement and fade into the empty paper around it, which makes an understated, almost abstract image. It suits anyone with roots in the Kayes region who wants a quiet reminder of home.
Houses and courtyards group together at the centre of Sagalo. On the map they form a soft, dense core with no strict street alignment.
Dirt roads and footpaths spread outward from the settlement toward fields and neighbouring villages. On the poster they fan out like thin threads across open space.
Much of the frame is open, gently rolling land. This negative space gives the composition its calm and makes the small settlement stand out clearly.
