Saint-Pierre is the main town of Réunion's southern coast. On a map its old centre is a fairly regular grid of streets laid out behind the seafront. On one side lies a harbour and marina. On the other, a long beach is sheltered by a coral reef that holds a shallow lagoon between the shore and the open Indian Ocean.
Behind the town, the land rises steadily. Roads zigzag up through sugar cane fields and scattered neighbourhoods towards the high interior of the island, which is volcanic and cut by deep ravines. The mouth of the Rivière d'Abord marks the eastern side of the town centre, where it meets the port.
A Saint-Pierre map poster shows the whole arrangement at once: the tidy colonial grid, the curve of the bay, the reef line offshore and the roads fanning out uphill. The town is a sub-prefecture of Réunion and has a well-known seafront, and it feels noticeably different from the more urban north around Saint-Denis.
A fringing coral reef runs parallel to the beach and encloses a calm lagoon. On the map it appears as a second, thinner coastline just offshore.
The port and marina sit where the Rivière d'Abord reaches the sea, on the eastern side of the centre. Its basins and breakwaters give the grid a sharp corner.
Behind the town, winding roads climb through cane fields towards the island's volcanic interior. Their switchbacks contrast neatly with the straight streets below.

Aiheā Saint-Pierre
Saint-Pierre is a place people return to, whether they grew up on the south coast or spent a long holiday there. A map of the grid, the lagoon and the hills behind it keeps that memory precise without turning it into a postcard.
Blueprint and Noir bring out the reef line well. Whichever of the five styles you choose, you can set the title, subtitle and coordinates. Printed posters on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame, ship from partners in over 30 countries.
