Starokostyantyniv lies in the Khmelnytskyi region of western Ukraine, where the Sluch and Ikva rivers meet. The town grew up around this confluence, and the rivers still shape its outline: water wraps around the old core on more than one side, and streets extend away from the banks across the gently rolling land of Podolia.
The town was founded in the sixteenth century by Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi, whose castle was built on the promontory between the rivers. Parts of the fortifications survive, and the position they occupy is easy to see on a Starokostyantyniv map poster: a compact point of land where the waterways converge, with the historic centre just beyond.
Later expansion added residential districts, industrial areas and railway lines, extending the town in a more regular pattern. Roads lead out toward Khmelnytskyi and other regional centres. The result is a plan with a clear historic heart defined by water, surrounded by the broader, more open grid of a modern regional town.
Two rivers meet at the edge of the historic centre, their curves defining the town's original shape and remaining the most recognisable feature on the map.
The sixteenth-century castle of the Ostrozkyi family stands on a point of land between the rivers, a small but significant shape in the town plan.
Beyond the old core, residential districts and industrial areas spread out in a more regular grid, connected by roads toward the rest of the Khmelnytskyi region.

Aiheā Starokostyantyniv
For many people with roots in western Ukraine, a hometown map carries particular weight. Starokostyantyniv's rivers and castle point make its plan distinctive and immediately recognisable to anyone who knows it.
The title and subtitle can be written in Latin or Cyrillic, with a family name or date. Classic black and white keeps the rivers crisp, while Paper gives the historic plan a quieter, archival character.
