Thượng Cát sits on the northwestern side of Hanoi, where the city meets the broad sweep of the Red River. On a map the river dominates: a wide channel with sandbanks and floodplain fields, held back by a raised dike that runs along the ward like a firm pencil line. Inland from that embankment the pattern changes to the tighter, irregular footprint of older village settlement.
Much of the surrounding land has been changing quickly as Hanoi grows outward. Newer roads cut straight lines across what were once paddies and market gardens, and blocks of development sit beside clusters of houses gathered around lanes that bend and branch. The contrast between planned grids and organic village cores is what makes this corner of the capital interesting to read from above.
A Thượng Cát map poster reduces all of this to line and space: the pale expanse of the river, the long curve of the dike and the fine mesh of lanes behind it. It suits someone who lives here, grew up nearby, or remembers this stretch of Hanoi's riverbank and wants a quiet, precise record of it rather than a photograph.
The river forms the ward's northern edge, a wide channel with shifting sandbars and cultivated floodplain that shows up as a large open field of white on the poster.
A raised embankment runs parallel to the river, and on the map it reads as a clean, continuous line separating the floodplain from the settled land behind it.
Behind the dike, older residential clusters appear as dense, irregular networks of narrow lanes, very different from the straight roads of newer development nearby.

Aiheā Thượng Cát
For many people this part of Hanoi is tied to family, to a first home in the city, or to daily trips along the river road. A map keeps the place recognisable without clutter, just the geometry of water, embankment and streets that anyone who knows the area will read immediately.
You can set your own title, add a subtitle such as a family name or a date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white for crisp contrast or Sand for warmer tones, among five styles, then download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
