Roads on contours
Streets leaving the centre follow the hillsides instead of running straight, so the network reads as a set of curves and switchbacks rather than regular blocks.

A hill town of winding roads in Kodagu, its streets threading between coffee estates and the forested slopes of the Western Ghats.

Te mape
Virajpet sits in the southern part of Kodagu, the Karnataka district better known as Coorg, where the Western Ghats fold into steep, wooded ridges. From above, the town is compact: a small commercial core where a few roads meet, and then lines spreading outward along the contours, bending around slopes rather than cutting across them. The grid logic of the plains never quite takes hold here.
Much of the surrounding land is given over to coffee and pepper estates shaded by tall trees, so on a map the town's edges soften into scattered lanes, estate tracks and isolated clusters of buildings. The town takes its name from Virarajendra, a Kodava ruler of the late eighteenth century, and it has long served as a market and administrative centre for southern Kodagu.
A Virajpet map poster reduces all of this to black lines on white: the knot of the town centre, the roads that leave it in loops and switchbacks, and the thin threads of streams draining toward the valleys. It is a quieter composition than a city grid, closer to a contour sketch, and it rewards a slow look.
Streets leaving the centre follow the hillsides instead of running straight, so the network reads as a set of curves and switchbacks rather than regular blocks.
Beyond the built-up core, the map thins into narrow tracks through coffee plantations, giving the poster a loose, open border instead of a hard urban edge.
The centre is small and dense where the main routes converge; on the poster it becomes the one concentrated knot of lines in an otherwise airy frame.

Aiheā Virajpet
For people with roots in Coorg, or who have spent time among its estates, Virajpet is a place tied to family and seasons more than to sights. A map of its winding streets is an understated way to keep that connection on a wall, without a single photograph.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line yourself, adding a family name or a year, and choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Take the $9 HD files in six print sizes, or order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
