’Aïn Benian lies on the Mediterranean coast a short distance west of central Algiers, within the capital's wider province. The map shows a town strung along the shore. A small harbour and a line of beaches and rocky points face the sea, and the streets rise gently inland over low hills towards the suburbs.
Known in the colonial period as Guyotville, the town has long been a fishing port and a place where Algiers residents go to the sea. The harbour's breakwaters stand out as sharp geometric lines against the curving coast, and the seafront road links the coves and beaches that break up the shore.
An ’Aïn Benian map poster is an image of a coastal town at the edge of a capital. The sea fills one side of the frame. The streets are densest near the port and loosen as they climb inland. The mix of harbour lines and natural coves gives the print a clear, balanced composition.
The port is enclosed by straight breakwaters that project into the sea. On the map they are among the sharpest lines along an otherwise irregular coastline.
The shore alternates between small beaches and rocky headlands. That rhythm gives the coastline a scalloped outline that stands out clearly in monochrome.
Behind the seafront, streets rise over low hills. Their pattern gets looser the further they get from the port, until they merge with the neighbouring districts of Algiers.
