Antu lies in the hilly southeast of Jilin province, and on a map the town is framed by terrain. Streets follow the floor of a river valley, forming a modest grid that stops where the slopes begin, and the main roads run out along the valley in both directions. Around the built-up area, the map quickly turns to forest and farmland, with lanes becoming sparse and irregular.
The town belongs to the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, where Chinese and Korean are used side by side on public signs. Antu is best known as a gateway to Changbai Mountain, the volcanic peak on the border with North Korea whose crater holds Heaven Lake, and many travellers heading to the mountain's northern side pass through the county.
An Antu map poster suits anyone with a connection to this corner of northeast China, whether through family, work or a trip to the mountain. The composition is simple and calm: a compact centre, a river line winding through, and the edges of the valley suggested by where the streets run out and the open land takes over.
The town's streets form a small, regular grid across the flat valley floor, contained on either side by rising ground that the map shows as open space.
A river runs along the town, its bends giving the otherwise orderly layout a softer, organic edge that anchors the whole composition.
Main roads leave the centre along the valley, the routes that connect Antu with the rest of Yanbian and with the approaches to Changbai Mountain.

For people from Antu, or those who have passed through on the way to Changbai Mountain, this map marks a specific point in a large and quiet landscape. It is a modest, honest piece for a home, not a souvenir with a landmark photo.
