Arnavutköy is a large district on the European side of Istanbul, stretching from the city's outer suburbs up toward the Black Sea coast. It should not be confused with the historic Bosphorus neighbourhood of the same name. On a map it looks less like a city than a patchwork: towns and villages, farmland, forest and water spread over rolling land.
The district's most striking feature from above is Istanbul Airport, which opened in 2018 and occupies a large area in the north. Its long parallel runways and huge terminal footprint stand out against the surrounding forest and former mining pits. Elsewhere, new housing estates and industrial zones push out along highways, and the Northern Marmara Motorway crosses the district.
The southern parts of Arnavutköy keep growing as part of the Istanbul metropolis, while the northern coast holds quieter villages by the sea. An Arnavutköy map poster captures this contrast between runways, highways and green open land, a portrait of a district at the edge of a very large city.
Long, parallel runways and taxiways form one of the most geometric shapes on any map of Istanbul, cut cleanly into the forested north of the district.
The northern edge reaches the Black Sea, where an open coastline and small settlements contrast with the denser urban grids further south.
Scattered villages appear as small knots of streets among fields and forest, each with its own loose, irregular layout and winding connecting roads.

Ko e hā ʻa Arnavutköy
Arnavutköy suits anyone who lives in its growing neighbourhoods, works at the airport or has family roots in one of its villages. It is an unusual map of Istanbul, with open space and geometry in place of dense old streets.
Give it a title, a subtitle with a date or name, and your own coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the 300 DPI files or order a printed poster, framed if you prefer.
