Az̧ Z̧ulayl sits in Zarqa Governorate, on the dry upland plateau that runs from the Amman–Zarqa conurbation toward the eastern steppe. From above it doesn't read as a dense core. The street pattern follows what the land allows. Straight arterial roads carry most of the traffic, and short side streets branch off them into small clusters of houses.
