Banté is the administrative seat of a commune in the Collines department of central Benin, west of the main north–south corridor and toward the border with Togo. The landscape is open savanna and farmland with occasional rocky hills, which give the department its name. From above, the town is a loose cluster of streets and compounds around a central area where the main roads meet.
Like much of the region, Banté is mainly agricultural. Roads and tracks connect it to surrounding villages and to the larger towns of the department. The settlement pattern is spread out, with houses and yards set among trees and cultivated plots rather than in dense blocks, so the edge between town and country is soft.
A Banté map poster shows a place defined by its connections: roads coming in from several directions, a denser core where they meet, and wide open ground in every direction. In a minimal black-and-white style, the pattern becomes a quiet, abstract drawing. It suits people with family ties to Collines or anyone who has lived and worked there.
Several routes meet at the centre of town, and they give the map its structure: a clear hub with lines reaching out toward villages and neighbouring communes.
The land around Banté is a mix of farmland, trees and savanna. On the map it forms wide, quiet space around the town.
The department takes its name from its hills, and scattered rises and outcrops across the area add gentle variety to an otherwise open landscape.

For those from Banté who now live in Cotonou, Lomé or further away, a map of the home town is a simple way to keep it close. The open layout makes a calm, uncluttered print.
Add a family name, a date or a phrase in French or a local language to the title and subtitle, and set the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Digital HD files cost $9, and there is a free watermarked preview.
