Barra do Piraí lies in the Paraíba Valley in Rio de Janeiro state, at the point where the Piraí River flows into the Paraíba do Sul. The town's name refers to that meeting of waters. Hills crowd close to the rivers, so the centre sits on narrow flat land, with neighbourhoods climbing the slopes around it.
In the nineteenth century the valley was coffee country, and Barra do Piraí became an important railway junction where lines from Rio split towards São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Rail tracks still follow the river banks, and bridges cross the Paraíba at several points, tying the two halves of the town together.
A Barra do Piraí map poster shows a place shaped by water and slope. The rivers form a strong Y-shaped frame, the central blocks fill the level ground between them, and streets spread outward in curving lines up the hills. The result is a compact, layered composition with a clear sense of its valley setting.
The Piraí joins the broad Paraíba do Sul near the centre, creating a Y-shaped junction that anchors the whole map.
Tracks run along the river banks and split in several directions, a reminder of the town's role in Brazil's early rail network.
Beyond the flat core, roads wind up the surrounding hills, giving the edges of the map a loose, organic texture.

For people from the Paraíba Valley, the map captures the meeting of rivers and rails that defines home. Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name or a date, and adjust the coordinates to your street.
Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint shows off the rail and river lines, while Paper feels like an old survey. Choose instant HD files or a printed poster.
