Ko e mape
Būr Fu’ād lies on the eastern bank of the Suez Canal at its Mediterranean entrance, directly opposite Port Said. It was founded in the 1920s and named after King Fuad I, and was designed as a planned town for canal staff. From above, its streets form an ordered pattern of avenues and blocks laid out with gardens and villas.
The canal separates it from Port Said, and ferries cross between the two constantly. Because it lies on the eastern side, Būr Fu’ād is often described as being on the Asian side of Egypt. A Būr Fu’ād map poster shows the canal as a wide, straight band between the two towns, with the Mediterranean coast just to the north.
East of the town, newer development, shipping infrastructure and the east port extend along the canal, while the older planned core remains clearly visible near the waterfront, where its early layout still defines the street pattern.
The canal runs past the western edge of the town, a broad straight channel that divides Būr Fu’ād from Port Said and dominates the map.
Built for canal workers in the 1920s, the original town has a regular, spacious layout with avenues and villa plots, easy to read on a print.
Short ferry routes link the town to Port Said across the canal mouth, a daily connection between the African and Asian banks.
