Camaragibe lies immediately west of Recife in the metropolitan area of Pernambuco. Unlike the flat, river-laced lowlands of central Recife, it sits on rolling hills, and its map shows the difference. Streets curve over ridges and drop into small valleys, and neighbourhoods follow the terrain in irregular clusters rather than a regular grid.
The town is the western terminus of a Recife Metro line, and the corridor of tracks and main roads heading east forms its strongest straight line. Around the edges, patches of Atlantic Forest and green hillsides remain, particularly to the north and west, giving the outskirts a softer texture than the dense districts near the station.
A Camaragibe map poster suits anyone who commutes into Recife or grew up in its hilly neighbourhoods. The winding streets create an organic, almost hand-drawn pattern, while the rail corridor gives the design a clear axis. Wooded areas at the margins give the composition room to breathe.
The metro line ends here, and its corridor toward central Recife forms the clearest straight line on the map.
Roads curve around ridges and down into small valleys, so the neighbourhoods form irregular, flowing shapes.
Patches of Atlantic Forest survive on the outer slopes, adding open green areas at the edges of the town.
