Castanhal lies in northeastern Pará, roughly seventy kilometres east of Belém. The town grew up around the old Belém–Bragança railway, and today it is an important stop on the BR-316 highway. Its street plan reflects that history. The blocks are largely regular and cross the main transport corridors, then spread out into newer neighbourhoods across mostly flat terrain.
The city is a regional centre for commerce and agriculture in an area that has been heavily transformed from forest into farmland. Small rivers and streams run through and around it. Their green margins break up the grid and link the city to the wider landscape of the lower Amazon region.
A Castanhal map poster shows a practical, legible city. A strong highway line and an orderly grid are softened at the edges by watercourses and open land. It is not an old colonial centre or a coastal skyline. It is a working Brazilian interior city, and its orderly plan makes a clean, balanced composition.
The federal highway runs through the city and connects it with Belém and the eastern interior of Pará. It is the most prominent line across the map.
Castanhal grew around the Belém–Bragança railway, and the town's early street layout still follows the logic of that former line.
Small streams wind between neighbourhoods and leave narrow belts of green. They add soft curves to an otherwise regular block pattern.

Castanhal is home to many families with ties across Pará, and for them this map is an honest portrait of the place. It suits a new house, a university leaving present, or a reminder for someone now living in Belém or further away.
