Ciriè lies on the plain north of Turin, where the Lanzo valleys open out towards the city. The map shows a historic centre of close-set streets and irregular blocks, surrounded by later residential districts and crossed by the railway that runs from Turin up towards the mountains. The town has medieval roots and a long connection with the D'Oria family, whose palazzo still stands in the centre.
