Rectangular field grid
Farm plots and access roads divide the plain into long rectangles. In black and white, the pattern looks like a woven textile stretched across the whole sheet.

Citong, also written Cihtong, is a rural township in Yunlin County on Taiwan's western coastal plain. The land here is almost perfectly flat, and the map shows it through straight lines. Farm roads run at right angles, irrigation channels cut across the fields, and small settlements gather where routes meet. Little climbs or bends, which gives the plan a calm, measured regularity.
Yunlin is one of Taiwan's main farming counties, and the land around Citong shows it. Fields cover most of the map, divided into narrow rectangular parcels. The built area forms a modest core of shops and homes along the main streets. Outlying hamlets sit along the country lanes like beads on a string. A Citong map poster captures this balance between settlement and farmland.
At poster scale, the township becomes an exercise in geometry. The drainage and irrigation network adds thin, sometimes diagonal lines that break the grid of fields. The larger roads linking Citong to neighbouring towns run through as firmer strokes. It is an unshowy place, and its map rewards slow looking more than a quick glance.
Farm plots and access roads divide the plain into long rectangles. In black and white, the pattern looks like a woven textile stretched across the whole sheet.
Water channels run between the fields and carry water across the plain. They appear as thin lines that sometimes follow the roads and sometimes cut across them at an angle.
The small centre sits where the main roads cross. Its denser blocks stand out against the open fields around it and give the composition a clear focal point.

Many families in Taiwan trace their roots to rural townships like Citong, even if they now live in Taipei or abroad. A map of the home township keeps that origin visible. It makes a good gift for parents or grandparents who remember the fields and lanes firsthand.
Personalise it with a family name, a year or a short line of your own, then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters on matte paper ship from partners in more than 30 countries, with an optional wooden frame.
