Clinton sits in Prince George's County, Maryland, a few miles south-east of the District line. From above, it reads as a patchwork of subdivisions: looping residential streets, short cul-de-sacs and green lots, all hanging off a few long arterial roads. Branch Avenue runs through it on a firm north–south line, and the rest of the plan arranges itself around that road.
The place has an older identity beneath the suburban pattern. Until the late nineteenth century it was called Surrattsville, after the tavern run by the Surratt family. That building, now the Surratt House Museum, is known for its link to the conspiracy behind Abraham Lincoln's assassination in 1865. It is a rare trace of the crossroads settlement that came before the modern suburb.
A Clinton map poster shows that layering well. Stream valleys and wooded buffers break up the housing tracts in irregular shapes. The large open ground of Joint Base Andrews sits just to the north-east, and the finer street grain of the Washington suburbs presses in from the north. On paper, the eye moves easily between dense and open areas.
Maryland Route 5 cuts a straight, confident line through the community. It gives the looser residential street pattern around it a clear axis to lean on.
Residential streets curl into loops and dead ends, forming small, self-contained shapes. At poster scale they look almost like leaves on a branch.
The area around the historic Surratt tavern marks the original crossroads settlement. The name Surrattsville belongs to this layer, from before the suburbs spread outward.

For people who grew up in Clinton or commute from it, the map shows home as the streets they actually drive, not the way it appears in a Washington skyline shot. It is quiet and specific, and it suits a hallway or a home office.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a move-in date. Then choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room.
