Coxim stands in northern Mato Grosso do Sul at the meeting of two rivers, the Taquari and the Coxim, close to where the uplands of central Brazil drop toward the Pantanal. The rivers give the town its shape: streets extend back from the banks, and the water forms the clearest, most organic lines on the map, curving through a grid that is otherwise fairly regular.
The Taquari is one of the rivers that feed the Pantanal wetlands, and Coxim has long been associated with river fishing and with the piracema, the season when fish swim upstream to spawn. Around the town the land alternates between pasture and patches of cerrado, and the BR-163 highway passes through, connecting Coxim with Campo Grande to the south and Mato Grosso to the north.
From above, the confluence is the natural focal point, with bridges tying the neighbourhoods on either side together. A Coxim map poster brings out that meeting of water and road, turning a working river town into a balanced composition of long highway lines and meandering channels, well suited to anyone who has fished, lived or travelled here.
The Coxim River joins the Taquari beside the town, and the two channels meeting in a clear Y shape give the map its natural centre of gravity.
The federal highway runs through town on its long north–south route across Brazil, a firm straight line cutting through the gentler curves of the rivers.
Residential blocks press up against both banks, with the grid adjusting its angles where the water turns, a pattern that reads well in black and white.

Coxim draws anglers and travellers heading toward the Pantanal, and many carry lasting memories of its rivers. A map poster can mark a fishing trip, a family origin or a stretch of life spent in this part of Brazil.
Set the title and subtitle as you like, adjust the coordinates line, and choose among Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters on matte paper can be ordered with an optional wooden frame.
