Cox’s Bāzār lies on the south-eastern coast of Bangladesh, facing the Bay of Bengal. From above, the most striking feature is the beach, a long, nearly straight line of sand extending south toward Teknaf. The town sits at its northern end, where the Bakkhali River meets the sea, and the green hills rise behind it.
The beach is often described as one of the longest natural sandy beaches in the world, stretching well over 100 kilometres. The town is named after Captain Hiram Cox, an officer of the East India Company in the late eighteenth century. Today it is Bangladesh's main seaside resort, with hotels lining the shore.
A Cox’s Bāzār map poster pairs the long straight coastline with the denser streets of the town and the river estuary to the north. The Marine Drive road follows the coast south, drawing a line between the hills and the sea. It is a clean, graphic composition.
A very long line of sand extends south from the town. On the map it forms a smooth, almost straight edge between land and sea.
The river meets the Bay of Bengal north of the town, creating channels, sandbanks and a more irregular coastline.
The coastal road runs south toward Teknaf, following the shoreline and separating the beach from the wooded hills inland.

Many people remember Cox’s Bāzār as the place of a first trip to the sea, a honeymoon or a family holiday. A map of the coast is a quiet way to keep that memory.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example the date of a trip or the location of a hotel. Blueprint and Sand suit the coastline particularly well.
