Diadema lies in the ABC region of Greater São Paulo, bordering the city of São Paulo and São Bernardo do Campo. From above, it is small in area but tightly packed. A web of streets covers rolling hills, industrial blocks line the main avenues, and residential neighbourhoods fill almost every slope. To the south, the land meets the arms of the Billings Reservoir.
Diadema was part of São Bernardo do Campo until it became an independent municipality in 1959. It grew quickly as factories and workers arrived during the industrial expansion of the ABC region. Today it is one of the most densely populated municipalities in Brazil, with chemical and metalworking industries. Many residents commute to São Paulo, linked by major avenues and a trolleybus corridor.
A Diadema map poster shows the texture of a city built quickly and densely. There are few large open spaces. Instead, streets curve over the hills in every direction and form a fine, intricate pattern. The shoreline of the reservoir to the south gives the composition a softer edge and shows where the city ends.

The reservoir's branching arms reach the southern edge of the city. Their irregular shoreline contrasts with the dense grid of streets.
Main avenues run through the city with factories and warehouses along them. Their larger plots stand out against the small residential blocks.

Diadema is home to many families who came from across Brazil and built their lives there. The map is a personal record of a neighbourhood, a street or a first home, for people who live there and for those who have moved on.
Add a title and subtitle, such as a family name or a date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download the HD files or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
