Dinapur Cantonment, also called Danapur, is a military station on the south bank of the Ganges, just west of Patna in Bihar. It was set up as a cantonment under British rule and remains an important army base. It is the home of the Bihar Regiment Centre.
The map makes the cantonment's character obvious. Streets are wider and straighter than in the neighbouring civilian districts. Large open areas mark parade grounds and training fields, and buildings stand apart on generous plots. The river runs along the north side, providing a natural, strong boundary.
A Dinapur Cantonment map poster shows that planned military order next to the Ganges and the denser city at its edges. It is a map about the difference between the neat cantonment grid and the organic town around it.
The Ganges runs along the northern edge of the cantonment. On the print it becomes a wide, calm band of water.
Large open fields and grounds appear as clear, blank rectangles. They are one of the most typical features of a cantonment layout.
Broad, straight roads cross the station in regular lines. They contrast with the tightly packed streets of the civilian town nearby.

Army families often move between many postings, and a map of Danapur can mark years spent there, a regiment or a childhood on base. It is a precise, understated way to keep a posting on the wall.
Add a unit, a name or the years of service in the title and subtitle, choose from five styles, and download the $9 HD files in six print sizes. Printed posters are also available, on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
