Gadsden, the seat of Etowah County in northeast Alabama, is defined on the map by the Coosa River, which loops through the city in wide, slow bends. Downtown sits close to the water, with Broad Street running as its main axis, and bridges carry roads across the river to neighborhoods on the far bank.
To the north, the land rises to the southern end of Lookout Mountain, the long ridge that runs from here toward Chattanooga. On that ridge, Black Creek drops about 90 feet at Noccalula Falls, the city's best-known natural landmark and the center of a park of trails and gorges. The contrast between river valley and mountain gives Gadsden a varied, layered plan.
Gadsden grew as an industrial city, with steelmaking and river trade shaping its early development, and its older neighborhoods still reflect that era. A Gadsden map poster brings together the meandering Coosa, the grid of the historic downtown and the curving roads that climb toward the mountain.

The historic commercial center follows Broad Street near the river, a compact grid of blocks that stands out against the curving water and the suburbs beyond.
At the southern end of Lookout Mountain, Black Creek plunges over a rock ledge into a gorge, and the surrounding park forms a green area on the city's northern side.

Gadsden means river days, mountain drives and family roots in the Alabama hills. A map of the city is a fitting gift for anyone who grew up here, returned after years away, or remembers the view from Lookout Mountain down to the Coosa.
Personalise the poster with your own title and subtitle, for example a street name or an anniversary, and edit the coordinates. Choose one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order it printed with an optional wooden frame or as a digital download.
