Ko e mape
Hamm stands at the eastern edge of the Ruhr, and its map is shaped by lines of movement. The Lippe River and the Datteln-Hamm Canal run roughly parallel through the northern part of the city, while a large railway junction and marshalling yard spread wide bands of track across the landscape. Around them, residential districts and green belts fill in the gaps.
The city was founded in 1226 by the Count of the Mark, and the compact old centre still shows its medieval outline, with the main streets meeting near the market church. Hamm has since grown into a spread of districts separated by fields and woods. Maximilianpark, on a former colliery site, is known for its giant glass elephant.
A Hamm map poster makes these layers easy to read: river and canal side by side, the long curves of the rail yard, and the small, dense core. In Classic black and white, the parallel lines give the composition a strong horizontal rhythm.
The Lippe River and the Datteln-Hamm Canal run close together through the city, one winding and one straight, creating a clear contrast on the map.
Hamm is a major railway hub, and its marshalling yard forms broad bands of parallel tracks that stand out strongly in black and white.
The small historic centre, founded in 1226, keeps a compact shape with streets converging near the market church, surrounded by later growth.

A map of Hamm suits someone who grew up between the Lippe and the rail yards, studied there, or passed through its station countless times. The distinctive lines make it recognisable at once.
You can set the title and subtitle, perhaps adding a district name or a meaningful date, and change the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as files or a print.
