Ikedachō lies in the west of Tokushima Prefecture, in the mountains of central Shikoku, and is now part of the city of Miyoshi. From above, the town is packed into a narrow valley where the Yoshino River turns sharply, with streets on terraces above the water and forested slopes rising on all sides.
Awa-Ikeda Station is a junction where the Dosan Line running north–south through Shikoku meets the Tokushima Line heading east down the Yoshino valley. A dam on the river creates a calm reservoir near town, and the steep terrain limits how far the streets can spread.
An Ikedachō map poster shows a town shaped almost entirely by its river and mountains: a curving band of water, rail and road lines following it, and a small, dense grid of streets pressed between steep slopes. It is a striking example of a Japanese valley town.
The river curves sharply around the town, its broad channel and reservoir forming the dominant shape on the map.
Two lines meet at the station, their tracks following the valley and tunnelling into the surrounding mountains.
Forested mountains close in on every side, leaving the map dense in the centre and sparse at the edges.

Ko e hā ʻa Ikedachō
Ikedachō is a gateway to the gorges and mountain villages of western Shikoku, and people who pass through or grew up here remember its tight river valley. The map captures that setting with clarity.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint brings out the river and rail lines in crisp detail.
