Ilovik lies at the southern end of the Lošinj group in the Kvarner Gulf. From above it reads as a compact, irregular island, fringed with small coves and scrub-covered slopes. Its only settlement sits on the northeast shore, facing a slim channel. Across that channel lies the islet of Sveti Petar, close enough that the two shapes almost lock together on the page.
The channel between Ilovik and Sveti Petar is the island's defining line. It works as a sheltered anchorage, and on a map it shows up as a thin band of water running between two coastlines. The village houses line the water on one side. Sveti Petar, across the channel, holds the island's cemetery, so residents cross by boat for burials, a detail that suits a place this small.
Ilovik is often called the island of flowers, a name taken from the oleanders, roses and eucalyptus planted around village gardens. None of that colour survives in a monochrome print, but the outline does. An Ilovik map poster shows the shoreline, the paths and the channel with nothing else in the way, which makes a place measured in a few square kilometres surprisingly legible.
A narrow, sheltered strait between Ilovik and its islet neighbour. It is the island's harbour, and on the map it draws a clean white line between two shores.
The settlement keeps to the northeast coast, so the densest part of the map is a single band of streets and houses facing the channel.
Away from the village, the coastline breaks into small bays and headlands, giving the southern edge of the print a finer, irregular rhythm.

Ko e hā ʻa Ilovik
People who have sailed the Kvarner or stayed on the island usually know Ilovik by its anchorage. A print of its outline brings back the quiet of the channel. It is a small, specific place that means more to the people who have been there than a map of any large city would.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a boat's name or the summer you anchored there. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9, and printed posters on matte paper are also available.
