Indiaroba lies in the far south of Sergipe, close to the border with Bahia, in a low coastal landscape shaped by the estuary of the Rio Real. From above, the town is a modest cluster of streets set against a much larger world of water. Winding tidal channels, mangrove margins and wetlands surround it.
The urban area is compact, with a small central grid and a few roads leading toward the coast and nearby municipalities. Much of the municipal territory is rural or estuarine, and the tidal waters and mangroves are part of daily life for local residents.
