Jand is a town in Attock district in the north of Pakistan’s Punjab, on the Potohar plateau. This is uneven country, cut by seasonal streams and eroded gullies, with rain-fed fields between the ridges. On the map, the town appears as a compact cluster where roads and the railway meet, set in a landscape broken up by natural channels.
A railway line runs through the town, and much of its layout grew around the station and market. Older streets near the centre are narrow and irregular, while roads leading toward neighbouring towns are straighter.
