This Jinzhou lies on the Liaodong Peninsula in southern Liaoning, within the municipal area of Dalian, and should not be confused with the larger city of the same name further north in the province. On a map it occupies a relatively narrow part of the peninsula, where the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea are separated by a band of low hills and valleys.
Jinzhou has long served as the northern approach to Dalian, and in recent decades it has grown quickly as the city expanded along the peninsula. Residential districts, industrial zones and new roads now spread across land that was once farmland between the hills. On the eastern coast, the Jinshitan area is known for its rocky shoreline and beaches.
A Jinzhou map poster shows a place defined by its position between two seas. Coastlines frame the drawing, hills break up the street pattern, and new districts extend along the main routes toward central Dalian. The result is a map with a strong sense of geography, where land and water are almost equally present.
The district sits where the Liaodong Peninsula narrows, so the sea appears on both sides of the map and gives the composition a clear, framed shape.
Low hills rise between the built-up areas, and roads follow the valleys between them, giving the street pattern a looser, more organic form than a pure grid.
The coast toward the Yellow Sea is broken into bays and headlands, drawn as an irregular edge that contrasts with the planned districts further inland.

Ko e hā ʻa Jinzhou
Jinzhou is hung by people who grew up on the Liaodong Peninsula, families who moved to Dalian's expanding northern districts and anyone who has spent time on its coast. The two seas make the map unusual and easy to recognise.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a district name or a significant date, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The digital files cost $9 and come without a watermark.
