Jurupa Valley lies in western Riverside County, in the Inland Empire of Southern California. From above, it is a broad and varied landscape: the Santa Ana River runs along its southern edge, the rocky Jurupa Mountains rise within it, and residential neighbourhoods spread across the flatter land between.
The city incorporated in 2011, bringing together established communities such as Rubidoux, Mira Loma and others under one municipal government. The map reflects this history, showing several distinct street patterns rather than a single centre, joined by major roads and freeway corridors.
A Jurupa Valley map poster captures the city's mix of terrain and development: the wide river channel, the hills breaking up the street grid, and the long lines of roads and freeways. It is a distinctly Inland Empire composition, open and spread out.
The river and its broad, often dry channel form the city's southern boundary, appearing as a wide band across the lower part of the map.
Rocky hills interrupt the streets, leaving open, irregular areas where the road network curves around steep ground.
Distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own street pattern, sit side by side, reflecting the older communities that joined to form the city.
