Old town lanes
A dense maze of narrow streets forms the historic heart of the town. The grain is far finer than anything in the surrounding countryside.

Kāman lies in the Braj region of eastern Rajasthan, close to the borders of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. From above, the old town is a tight, irregular knot of lanes that have grown over centuries, with no overall plan and a strongly organic texture. Newer roads run past its edges toward the surrounding villages.
The town is traditionally identified with Kamyavan, one of the sacred forests of Braj linked to the stories of Krishna. It is a stop on the pilgrimage circuit through the region. Temples and water tanks are scattered through and around the town, and several ponds show up on the map as small, sharp shapes.
A Kāman map poster shows the contrast between that dense, ancient core and the open, flat farmland around it. The lanes crowd together, the outer roads stretch away, and the water bodies punctuate the composition.
A dense maze of narrow streets forms the historic heart of the town. The grain is far finer than anything in the surrounding countryside.
Ponds and water tanks connected with the town's pilgrimage traditions appear as distinct shapes within and around the built-up area.
Flat, cultivated land surrounds the town, crossed by roads heading to neighbouring pilgrimage sites and villages across the region.

Ko e hā ʻa Kāman
Kāman means a great deal to families from the town and to those who have walked the Braj pilgrimage. A map of its streets marks that connection quietly and respectfully.
The title, the subtitle and the coordinates line can be personalised, perhaps with a family name or the year of a pilgrimage. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
